About Us

Save the Mothers is a multidisciplinary program to reduce the numbers of mothers dying from pregnancy complications.  The program will train professional champions from developing countries to improve mothers' health.  These champions will be from all spheres of works and influence including policy makers, government officials, lawyers, medical staff, media personnel, agriculturists and educators.  Each one will be able to initiate positive change within their area of expertise in order to save mothers.  Graduates will form an organized network of committed individuals who will improve the health of mothers.  The reasons for mothers dying at such a high rate is very complicated and requires a broad spectrum of individuals.  simply building more hospitals and clinics will not improve the health of mothers - they need the capacity and understanding to seek help, the transportation to get them there and the qualified staff and adequate resources in order to treat them.
