Students:

Your professional skills and influence can be used to ensure better access and services for pregnant mothers. The Save the Mothers Program is a specially designed program where you can continue your profession by taking modular courses towards a masters in public health leadership. You can work and study at the same time! Modules throughout the year will last for 3 intensive full-time weeks. Studies will focus on the causes and prevention of maternal mortality from various professional perspectives. You will be equipped with leadership and hands-on experience to influence and reduce the tragedy of mothers dying from pregnancy related complications within your own sphere of work and experience. Faculty include both international and local experts in the fields of leadership, communication and advocacy, public health and much more.

The site for the Save the Mothers masters degree program is the beautiful campus of the Uganda Christian University, near Mukono, Uganda. This 85-acre facility has a modern library, internet access for students and a gorgeous campus to enjoy. Only 30 minutes out of Kampala, on the Jinja Road, the University has housing facilities and sporting opportunities.

The Save the Mothers program is looking for qualified individuals who have completed a bacheloreate degree (minimum lower second standing) and are currently employed within their profession or field of training. Potential students include lawyers, politicians, social workers, media personnel, agriculturists, health care workers and other professionals. Enhance your career and the impact of your life by joining the Save the Mothers Program. The program starts in October. Applications are due in early March.

Within their own sphere of work and influence, all graduates will complete a project to reduce maternal mortality prior to graduating from the course. Once graduated, you will become a member of the Save the Mothers network - a group who will meet regularly to plan and continue the assault on maternal mortality.

Surprise yourself as to what you can do to ensure a safer and better life for mothers - the most precious and valued gift to a child. How much is your mother worth? You can save the life of someone's mother. Join the ranks of successful professionals who are dedicating their energies and talents to save one of the earth's endangered and yet most precious "species": mothers.
